How to Apply

The application to the CUNY BA program is separate from your application to a CUNY home college. To apply to the CUNY BA program, you need to submit:

  • A proposed Area of Concentration(s): This includes the title you give to your unique degree
  • A course sample for your Area of Concentration(s): These are the 6 to 8 courses you propose to be the core of your concentration
  • A personal statement: explaining your educational path and outlining why you want to design your own degree in the CUNY BA program
  • Official transcripts of any non-CUNY institutions or exams not already submitted to the University Application Processing Center (UAPC)

You generally do not need to submit any CUNY transcripts unless you attended CUNY more than ten years ago. Applicants must have completed at least 12 college credits and have a GPA of at least a 2.80.
